Kedarkantha Trek Itinerary - 5 Days 4 Nights

Standard Sankri–Juda Ka Talab–Base Camp–Summit route. Pickup from Dehradun on Day 1, summit mid-trek, drop back on Day 5.

Day 01

Dehradun → Sankri

Drive ~8–10 hrs ~200–220 km Meals: D

Morning pickup from Dehradun. Drive via Mussoorie / Purola / Mori to Sankri (~6,400 ft), the base for Kedarkantha.

  • Pickup ~6:30–7:30 AM (timing on WhatsApp)
  • Lunch stop en route; last reliable ATM around Purola / Mori
  • Arrive Sankri - briefing, gear check, overnight

Day 02

Sankri → Juda Ka Talab

Trek ~4 km 4–5 hrs Meals: B, L, D

First trek day through pine and oak forest to Juda Ka Talab (~9,100 ft). In peak winter the lake often freezes - one of the most photographed campsites on this trail.

  • Breakfast at Sankri, trail start after briefing
  • Steady forest climb with short breaks
  • Camp by the lake; hot tea and dinner in tents

Day 03

Juda Ka Talab → Kedarkantha Base Camp

Trek ~3–4 km 3–4 hrs Meals: B, L, D

Climb through snow meadows / open clearings to Kedarkantha Base Camp (~11,250 ft). Shorter day - rest early for the summit push.

  • Leave Juda after breakfast
  • Reach base camp by afternoon
  • Early dinner and sleep - summit wake-up is early

Day 04

Summit Kedarkantha → Descend to Hargaon / Juda side

~6–9 km Summit day Meals: B, L, D

Very early start for Kedarkantha summit (~12,500 ft / ~3,810 m). Photo stop, short rest, then long descend to Hargaon (~8,900 ft) or equivalent lower camp as per batch plan.

  • Pre-dawn summit push with headtorches / guide lead
  • Sunrise and peak views (weather permitting)
  • Descend carefully on snow / ice patches
  • Camp lower for a warmer night

Day 05

Hargaon → Sankri → Dehradun

Trek ~5–6 km Drive ~8–10 hrs Meals: B

Descend to Sankri, board vehicle, and drive back to Dehradun. Expect a late evening drop depending on road and group pace.
